Biofutures International raises £32.5 million on AIM with support from Crowe Clark Whitehill
Mar 26, 2013

Biofutures International plc has announced that, in conjunction with its acquisition of Platinum NanoChem, it has raised £32.5 million through a placing on AIM, with advisory firm Crowe Clark Whitehill acting as reporting accountant. Panmure Gordon was sole bookrunner to the placing and Nominated Adviser to the company from its readmission to AIM. The company was renamed Graphene NanoChem plc at a general meeting.

Platinum NanoChem is a global nanotechnology company with an established revenue-generating business model to design, formulate, manufacture and market a range of IP-backed speciality chemicals and advanced materials, including ‘super material’ Graphene, from waste feedstocks.

The enlarged group will work to capitalise on the global megatrend towards sustainability, supplying waste-based, high performance products into global markets and focus on the opportunities afforded by Graphene-enhancement.

The Crowe Clark Whitehill team, which included Robin Stevens, Chulanga Jayawardana and Leonor Lee, joined forces with the Crowe Horwath International network on the transaction, with corporate finance support from Crowe Horwath Malaysia.

Crowe Clark Whitehill partner Robin Stevens said “We are delighted to have been involved in this transaction and to support this groundbreaking company in achieving its ambitions and strategic objectives. The funds raised are testament to the quality and strength of the business, and hopefully evidence of a sustained improvement in the AIM market.”
